|

Abstract Alzhimer's disease (AD) is the most prevalent neurodegenerative disease in the elder. The disease is characterized by memory impairment and cognitive obstacle. The current treatments of AD provide only symptomatic relief and are practically inefficient. With the advancing ageing population in the world,AD is becoming one of the most severe diseases that damages humankind's health. Now, anti-Aβ antibodies have been suggested as a potential therapeutic strategy for the treatment of AD. In this paper, we summarize the recent progress in pathogenesis based on the Aβ hypothesis, possible mechanisms of Aβ-clearance by anti-Aβ antibody, and potential methods to prepare anti-Aβ antibody, etc.
