A Rapid and Direct Detection of Cyclodextrins in the Fermentation Fluid by HPAEC1 |
|
|
Abstract In order to investigate the formation of various cyclodextrins (CDs) by cyclodextrin glucanotransferase (CGTase), a rapid and direct method was developed. The method was applied to screen the CGTaseproducing bacteria in the soil. Among the 149 strains, which can produce starch hydrolysing enzymes, 11 bacterial strains were detected to produce CDs with HPAEC at the experimental conditions, 6 mainly produced CD6, 5mainly produced CD7, and none could produce CD8 as the main product. In the process of a direct identification of CGTase strains, the method can detect quantitatively the content of various CDs including largering cyclodextrin(CD>8).
