Recent advances in methodology for the crystallization of protein |
|

Abstract Protein crystallization is the hot research area in biochemistry and X-ray diffraction is the most reliable method to determine the three-dimensional structure of proteins, but it can only be applied provided suitable crystals are obtained. Obtaining good ordered crystals is currently the major barrier to structure determination. This paper present recent investigation in protein crystallization and emphasize in four major techniques for growing crystals of biological macromolecules: liquid/liquid diffusion ,batch crystallization, vapor diffusion and dialysis, and also mention to detergents and strategy for protein crystallization.
