Antibody immobilization and activity investigation on silica surface

Abstract  Aldehyde groups were produced on silica surface through silanisation and Terephthal-dicarboxaldehyde self-assembly. Antibody was immobilized on silica surface through condensation reaction between an amine and an aldehyde. Activity of antibody was investigated through antigen-antibody reaction. Experiment show antibody can be attached on silica surface though this way and its activity is retentive. This method can be used in protein detection and protein chip.
